It's the greatest of privileges enabling people to tell their stories - and some of those stories are incredibly moving.

I specialise in radio because it is intimate - it is one-to-one. We tend to listen to the radio when we are on our own, as apposed to watching the television with others. In fact listening to the radio, or a podcast, or an audio clip with others can be awkward as we never know where to look.

My guests have shared their stories about being a victim of violence, losing a child through illness or even murder, their desperation due to poor mental health, being a victim of hate crime, being homeless, etc. These are stories with intense feeling and they burn themselves into our memory cells and change us forever.
